Vibhav Kant Upadhyay is a development leader known for his statesmanship, macro-vision and pragmatism. A prolific out-of-the-box thinker, Vibhav strongly believes that the current development model needs a foundational change and has dedicated his life towards manifesting this thought process into visible and tangible results through the Alternative Development Model (ADM).
Vibhav’s leadership successfully catalysed the India-Japan Global Partnership (IJGP) initiative which was announced in the year 2000 by the leaders of India and Japan. With relentless persuasion, he has nurtured and strengthened the strategic relationship between the two nations. This has led to mega-initiatives like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), which was formed to re-establish the industrial culture of India. Therefore, he is widely regarded as the architect of the modern India-Japan relationship.
Vibhav’s leadership is currently dedicated to furthering the development framework of ADM and initiatives based on it through the manifestation platforms and organizations in India, Japan and Global Partners. Under this model, the collaborative strengths and resources of Global Partners are utilised to empower not just the developed but the developing nations too.
Vibhav believes that India and Africa are the socio-economic labs for the ADM model and Norway is the living lab. With one-sixth of humanity each in India and Africa, the adoption of ADM can become an example in the world for sustainable development for humanity.
Vibhav focuses on ethos of contributory, inclusive and accessible development, championing the cause of a common man. His initiatives have led to thousands of projects creating opportunities, employment and vibrant economy. Vibhav is the Founder and Chairman of various organizations including the Alternative Development Organisation (ADO) in Oslo, Norway, India-Japan Foundation (IJF) Tokyo, Japan and India Center Foundation(ICF) New Delhi, India. He is also the Founder Chairman of Global Partnership Summit (GPS), a platform to take forward the Alternative Development Model (ADM) framework and initiatives based on it by manifesting unique ideas into tangible outcomes by empowering G2G, G2B and B2B interaction.
The organisations will take forward seminal, innovative initiatives to establish ADM around the world focusing on areas such as Infrastructure, Healthcare, Agriculture, Education, Environment and Social Justice.
Vibhav was born in Agra, India. He has a Post-Graduate degree from the University of Allahabad. He has a second Post-Graduate degree from the University of Tokyo. Vibhav is prolific in Japanese language besides Hindi and English.
Mr. Sudhir Pathak belongs to the city of Agra in UP, India. He has been living in Japan since 1997 and has been serving the Indian community in Japan through various, social , cultural, religious and political gatherings. He played a key role and was instrumental as senior officer of India Center for several India-Japan Bilateral initiatives. Mr. Pathak has been deeply involved in the initiatives between India and Japan during the past Japan visits of Indian Dignitaries such as Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Hon. Narendra Modi Ji with business delegates during the Calendar Years 2001, 2008 & 2012 respectively.
She is a Communications Strategist with a passion for New Media. She holds a Master’s degree in Multimedia Journalism from the reputed Media School of Bournemouth University. Ms Dewan has worked as a journalist during the tumultuous “People’s War” of Nepal reporting on various political and socio-economic issues such as the Maoist conflict, food security, conservation, environment and development. She has worked as a News Anchor and Producer. She is the founding Chairperson of Media Accountability Foundation (MAF), which aims to promote media literacy and ethics in journalism. She is the Secretary General of India Center Foundation.
Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi is the Chief Imam of the All India Imam Organization (AIIO). AIIO is voice of the half a million Imams of India, the religious and spiritual guide of two hundred ten Million Indian Muslims. Imam Ilyasi is actively engaged in interfaith peacebuilding as the head of AIIO, and his commitment to peace, interfaith harmony and dialogue between civilizations is made evident in his every endeavor.
He is a global Indian with extensive experience in Strategy and Business Development across the world. He is based in Chicago, USA. Mr Subramanian is in-charge of Global Affairs and leads the Global India Initiative at India Center Foundation. His role includes active participation in the activities of the India Center Foundation including IJGPS and working closely with the Chairman in conceptualizing and executing various strategic initiatives.
He is the Founder and Chairman of Global Partnerships Forum, an international platform to address economic and social challenges, through innovative partnerships. He is also a Co-Initiator of the Pearl Initiative, a CEO-led program, promoting transparency and accountability in the Gulf Region. In 2010, he was appointed as Commissioner of the Broadband Commission for Digital Development and Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union for Global Partnerships. He works globally across all sectors, including Health, Education, Environment, Peace, Security, and Human Rights.
He is presently the Director of the School of Geopolitics at Manipal University, India. A gold medalist in Economics from Bombay University, Prof. Nalapat holds the prestigious UNESCO Peace Chair. The former Coordinating Editor of the Times of India, he writes extensively on security issues, policy and international affairs.
Mr. Saleem Iqbal Shervani serves as the Chairman and Managing Director of Shervani Industrial Syndicate Limited. Mr. Shervani serves as Chairman of Star Hotels Ltd. He serves as a Director of Shervani Sugar Syndicate Ltd., ATB Cargo Pvt Ltd., Al Barr Finance House Ltd., Capon Food Specialities Ltd., Gillette Diversified Operations Pvt. Ltd., LinkQuest Telecom Pvt Ltd., Shervani Hospitalities Ltd., Shervani Food Pvt. Ltd., Tara Snacks & Foods Ltd and iMRP Insurance Services Pvt. Ltd. He served as Non-Executive Director of Elder Pharmaceuticals since September 30, 2003 until December 11, 2014. He serves as an Executive Director of Shervani Industrial Syndicate Ltd. Mr. Shervani served as Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare (Independent Charge) in 1996 in the Union Cabinet. In June 1997 he was appointed as Minister of State for External Affairs. Mr. Shervani was honoured with the “Indira Gandhi National Unity Award” in November 1990 for his outstanding services, achievements and contributions. Mr. Shervani is an Arts Graduate gold medallist in Economics from Aligarh Muslim University.
Dr. Vivek Lall has held various key positions with his last stint being as CEO and President, Reliance New Ventures Ltd. Reliance Industries Limited. Dr. Lall was heading the Boeing (Defence and Space) operations in India from 2007 till April 2011. Dr. Lall has now joined General Atomics as the global Chief Executive for international Commercial Strategic Development for General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems. He has been also recognized as one of the world’s top scientists of the twentieth century by Cambridge. He also has done his PhD in Aerospace and an MBA from US. He then worked with NASA Ames Research Center where he was part of a project undertaking research work. With a fellowship from NASA, he has done his PhD in aerospace engineering. Dr. Lall is also affiliated with the United Nations in New York to advise on Broadband and Cyber Security issues for unique challenges within the global community and provide services that will help address them.
He is Chairman of Bharat Krishak Samaj, a non-political, non-sectarian association of the agricultural producers & those interested in the promotion of their welfare. Presently as Director, NAFED he is acknowledged as an expert on agriculture and farmer-related welfare issues.
He is an Indian politician from Orissa and a leader of the Biju Janata Dal political party. He hails from the royal family of Bolangir. Currently, he is a member of the 15th Lok Sabha representing Bolangir constituency in Orissa. He was a member of the Public Accounts Committee and Energy Committee.

Commercials directed by Prahlad have also been nominated for Lions at Cannes.
Dr Rana has been promoting new concepts of urbanization for sustainable and balanced regional development of the country through use of Rail and Rivers as the prime corridors of development. He has also promoted the concept of Planned Urbanization with Rural Ambience [PURA].
He has received several awards including Distinguished Alumni Award (2006) from IIT, Delhi and Honorary Doctorate in Civil Law from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne (U.K.) in 2007.
He worked as President, Indian Building Congress; Patron of Institute of Urban Transport; member Advisory Council IIT, Delhi; Chairman, Buildings and Works Committee of Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology; Vice Chairman Engineering Council of India and several other bodies.
He also worked as Chairman/Independent Director on Boards of several Companies, Board of NIUA and Member of Academic Councils of North Cap University.
At present he is Chairman, Board of Governors,Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), India.
He is the dynamic vice-chairman and managing director of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts. His passion to excel the luxury quotient of the service and quality for the industry has brought home prestigious laurels for The Leela. Mr Nair completed his Master’s Degree in Hotel Management from Cornell University in 1984. He is currently also the chairperson of the World Travel and Tourism Council, India (WTTCI) and honorary secretary of executive committee with The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI).

She has been advocating and working towards the Alternative Development Model for almost half a decade and hopes to be able to establish more sustainable initiatives in the future. She has a graduate degree in Mass Communication and Journalism.
Harsh Shrivastava has worked for 26 years across governments, businesses, industry bodies, media, and civil society. He has a deep understanding of how Policies, Profits, Politics, and People can come together in our complex and evolving country. He advises governments, companies, and institutions. His last role was the CEO of the microfinance industry association.
